Why you’re here & our mission

The field of Objectives and Key Results is a recent and evolving one. As a Practitioner, you will have likely read books, watched videos and attended seminars which have each presented you with a different take on OKRs. And there is the challenge you face: multiple ways to interpret and apply.

We’ve created the European Centre of OKR
Excellence (ecoe) to help...

You’re likely naturally curious, with an appetite to learn, and so with a little help from Google, you’ve found your way here, and here is where you will find clarity, support, best practice and training. As Europes leading OKR consultants, we have come together to form the ecoe as a non-profit organisation to help set standards and build a community of practice for those using OKRs.

We believe the ecoe exists to bridge the gap between creating great OKRs and achieving real mastery with them. It aims to ensure that when you use OKRs, they deliver real impact on growth, change or innovation.

Our mission is to provide clear standards of best practice
so that anyone using OKRs has a high level of proficiency to aim for...

We have all seen how Agile has achieved this by bringing innovation and challenge to the long-standing practices in project management. We want the ecoe to provide leadership in the field of OKRs so that outdated approaches to leadership, management and the execution of strategy are transformed.

What we have in mind

Taking a step back for the details of the roadmap, we are keen to keep the ecoe core purpose in mind. The three value-drivers below are how we believe ecoe can help OKR thrive in Europe and will act as the guiding principles for each ecoe activity.

Resources

There are many different ways to interpret and apply OKRs which is why an aim of the ecoe is help you navigate through the possible confusion. We do this by providing you with resources which help you to understand what really great OKR practice looks like.

We will shortly be publishing our maturity model which will help you to understand where you are - as an organisation - in relation to the various OKR skills practices. We also plan to develop OKR training and certification programmes for all ranging from those who just want a basic awareness through to those who need to become practitioners within their own organisations.

Quality

The ecoe is all dedicated to creating a level of excellence when working with OKRs. The knowledge and experience gained from companies working with OKR and the consultants who help them, gives us the insights on what works best. There’s a tremendous variation in business models and very diverse cultural differences throughout Europe. Add each company’s maturity to that mix and you have so many varients that all influence the way OKRs can best be adopted. The maturity model provides a starting-point for evaluating how best to start implementing OKRs.

By bundling all these insights, our aim is to reach the highest level of quality and reduce risk when implementing OKR. In the course of 2020, the eceo will be issuing a seal of success qualification for methodologies, materials and trainers.

Community

Especially in Europe, it’s hard to keep track of who exactly is working with OKR and what they can bring to the table. OKR is so adaptable and can be applied to so many diverse fields that we want to promote an exchange of best-practices, a place to set questions, get answers and chat in general about how to make OKR even more effective.

The Community should be a place to meet regularly online and your go-to address to find out where the next physical OKR event is taking place. Regardless whether you are a trainer or practitioner, your own experience can help others to overcome their OKR hurdles. In fact, we believe most OKR puzzles have already been solved - the challenge is to find out who can answer your question.
